01

BUSINESS CONTEXT

A digital platform for a large creative industry event

BORSCH is a conference created around collaboration between business, media, technology and the creative industries.

The website brought together the event concept, speakers, agenda, activities, partners, venue information and access to ticket sales in one digital experience.

The previous edition attracted more than 1,300 attendees, 11 speakers and 20 business and media partners.

02

CHALLENGE

Turning a bold visual concept into a reliable event platform

The challenge was to preserve the client’s bold visual direction while turning it into a responsive, maintainable WordPress website under an extremely tight timeline.

The site combined custom graphics, interactive elements and complex layouts, while still needing to remain fast, stable across devices and easy to update as event content changed before launch.

03

CORE SOLUTION / ARCHITECTURE

Flexible content management without hardcoding the page

We built the website with custom ACF Gutenberg blocks, allowing the event team to manage content and reorder sections directly from WordPress.

Speakers, agenda, activities, partners and other event information could be updated without changing page templates.

04

KEY FUNCTIONAL SOLUTION

Interactive experiences beyond standard event content

Across different BORSCH editions, the platform included custom interactive features beyond standard event content.
For the 2025 edition, we developed an animated hero where illustrated ingredients assembled on page load, reacted to interaction, moved apart, rotated and returned to their original composition.

We also implemented a branded photo generator that allowed visitors to upload a photo, choose a visual theme and generate social-media-ready content using BORSCH graphics, branding, date and venue information.

The creative concepts were provided by the client, while the technical implementation was handled by our team.

05

COMPLEX TECHNICAL CHALLENGE

Performance across complex responsive layouts

The website combined large visual compositions, custom graphics, interactive elements and content-heavy sections that had to work consistently across different screen sizes.

Instead of simply scaling the desktop layout down, we adapted complex sections individually for smaller screens and tested key layouts and interactions across devices before production deployment.

The 2026 production build achieved 97/100 Lighthouse Performance as part of our standard development process, without a separate optimization phase.

Responsive Layouts

Complex compositions adapted individually for desktop and mobile.

Interactive Assets

Animations and frontend interactions implemented without compromising usability.

Frontend Performance

Visual assets and JavaScript kept lightweight enough for a fast production build.

Cross-device Testing

Key layouts and interactions tested before production deployment.

06

SCALE / LONG-TERM VALUE

One platform evolving across multiple event editions

The following year, the client returned with a completely refreshed design and znamy joining as a co-organizer.

We implemented the new version in five days, while keeping the established WordPress foundation and content management workflow.

The platform later expanded with a dedicated BORSCH Awards experience, covering award categories, speakers, nomination information and a multi-stage awards timeline.

After the event was moved to 2027, the same platform continued to be supported and developed, with further functionality planned as the event evolves.

VISUAL

Use a current 2026/27 frontend visual, ideally the Awards collage or another section that clearly shows the platform expanding beyond a single landing page.

07

TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP / PARTNERSHIP

Development integrated with the client’s workflow

Our two-person development team worked directly with the client’s team through a staging environment, where implementation was reviewed and approved before production deployment.

The client returned for the next edition, and the collaboration continues with ongoing development and support as the platform evolves for 2027.
